Off we went from Shanghai to Chizhou.
Was late getting up at 4:45 am. Totally missed my alarm clock. Had to catch our flight at 7 am. With taxi from home to airport, by plane to another airport. With taxi to the national park. At the outskirts change to bus to get up to our town. Check in with the hotel. With the poor English of the staff always an adventure. Really nice room. And of again by cable car up the mountain by 11 am...
Mount Jiuhua is one of the four sacred mountains
of Chinese Buddhism. It is located in Qingyang County in Anhui province and is
famous for its rich landscape and ancient temples.
Many of the mountain's
shrines and temples are dedicated to Ksitigarbha who is a bodhisattva and
protector of beings in hell realms according to Mahayana Buddhist tradition.
Our village
Well if you play with the pictures it does make a difference....
Why I wonder? Do they actually hope to support the mountain with the sticks or does it have to do with religion?
Just go for some telly if there is not much happening! :P
What is different about this pine tree?
Such a nice pagoda!
Not as massive as it looks though. It is made out of metal or something.
Quite thin walls which are covered with thousands of Buddhas inside...
The path on the mountain ridge connecting temples .
So cute! I wanna see monkeys!
My wish was granted - well live not quite as cute as expeceted....
On my knee hoping for some good stuff.
Cheeky buggers! Robbed the bag of some Chinese girl. When I tried to retrieve it they hissed at me.
Not quite sure what this is about - but as usual in life - the bigger the better...
On my way down - really steep.
Someone is letting these poor guys carrying his/her luggage uphill.
