Sunday, February 9, 2014 - Srimangal trip - day 3

After Breakky we started our final day with a trip to the wetlands called Hail haor:

Even though it is dry season it is incredibly green here.

We had to get on boats and made a little trip through peace and quiet.

Well it was not quiet here. They were chatting a lot.

Note the pink wing-pits of the ducks!

A lovely mermaid!

What up guy's? Explorers on tour:

Should not gain more weight - otherwise we are going down next time... :s

Our guide told us - that when he comes to this fisherman village -  he will choose a different family whose boats he uses to get tourists around. That way all of them get to participate...

It is going to rain any minute now!

At the fisherman village: Such a lovely cute girl.
We were still freaking out imaging that are those our plates she is cleaning.
Not that we mind - it is just that a lot of things the locals are used to have the power to make us severely ill...

I hope I got this right: Our guide told us that the people of the fisherman as well as from the pottery villages are not being treated too nicely by Bangladesh society. He has a certain concept of eco tourism and hopes to make a contribution to sustainability with his business. According to him visits of foreigners help to raise those peoples self esteem as they see that they are being noticed and treated respectfully.

Most amazing moment - man that girl had some serious business going on and we dared to come by and disturb. It is as if she was thinking - Noli, obsecro, istum disturbare!

To cute - just wanna wrap him up and take him home...

Having Lunch at the fisherman village...

... on the bed.

Afterwards we went off to the pottery village:
The guy was most amazing.

We were treated to a show how from a block of clay he produced usable tableware. Also we were allowed to try ourselves. And boy - be assure it ain't as easy as it looks.

After leaving the pottery village we stopped for this elephant cause some of us wanted to ride on it.

Our guide and the workers could not agree on the price so we just took pictures and went off.

What a guy! Quite a character. When the workers were to annoying he would turn cheeky.

 Us. At the guest house.

What a man!

Tapas being cute with a guy at the train station of Srimongal.
He waited with us until the train came to make sure we would get to our seats.
Even though new customers had arrived already (a Chinese couple).

Have to admit though the train ride back to Dhaka was horror. Coming in daylight was ok. Going back during the night - cockroaches came out. The seating space was tiny. (Most Bengali are tiny...)
