Wednesday, April 02, 2014 - Xiamen

Our next stop - from Tunxi to Xiamen by plane.

Xiamen and its surrounding countryside is known for its scenery and tree-lined beaches.

Well the morning was a wet one. Rain with a bit of a thunder storm. Did not even went out to have brekky. Later we rented two bikes and discovered the coast line....

No not one of these. ;P

They actually still wear these hats in every day life - who would have thought?!

Xiamen is also famous for its history as a frontline in the Chinese Civil War with Taiwan over Jinmen (some island) 50 years ago.

So big, so beautiful, so tropical!

Close to our place we me a boy from Turkey who had come to Canton to study and went on to Xiamen to open up his own little stall from which he sells big backed potatoes with stuffing - a Turkish National treat. Man I sure appreciated it! Yummm! :D If he adds Turkish delight as desert to his menu he is going to be all set - bound to become insanely rich... ;P

Yeah man! ;P

The tea table of the hotel we stayed at. Some big polished tree trunk - quite impressive.

Went on a walk and discovered these close to a Temple where someone had set up shop who produces statues. Fell in love instantly.
