Thursday, December 26, 2013 - Boxing Day!

My second day wandering around.

Yes if you have exterior work to do you should have a scaffold

Well "wer hat der hat"...

Walking along the river on Gulshan side to get to the bridge connecting Gulshan and Baridhara.

Most Embassies used to be in Gulshan and are being moved over to Baridhara now. The US and Canadian already moved. We built together with the French. Close by this site...

Pragati Avenue ...

Well one can nearly guess it - this is the American Fort...

A rickshaw driver oiling parts.

Well in bowls you can carry anything...

These amaze me. These little shops...

Another shopping mall - which I found kind of depressing ...
maybe just because I am an outsider and do not know of the gems hidden within.

Visited Samia at work. It is a cute small bookstore called "Mind the thought!". Right in the neighborhood of Noth End Coffee (they got the BEST brownies in town!).

I crossed over further up and now take the second bridge back to Gulshan.
Evening mood with the muezzin calling those who believe...

This was really touching. If I understood it correctly Muslims are not allowed to keep dogs as a pet. So there are loads of stray dogs all over Dhaka. Apparently someone wanted this one to be compfy tonight.

Here a wedding will be held tonight. December is wedding season.

This kitty is a far cry from the babes we got at our place...

Traditionally for weddings both houses (the bride's and the groom's) will be decorated with lights...
